Four Organizations Form Project to Develop Delivery System for Neonates
Four European organizations have teamed up to develop an intranasal device for neonates in response to a challenge by the European Joint Program for Rare Diseases.
The focus of the partnership is on developing a delivery system from the nose to the brain for the treatment of rare central nervous system diseases like encephalitis in neonates.
The four partners include EVEON, a medical device company focused on the delivery of drugs, the Chiesi Group, a biopharmaceutical company, the Belgian Cliniques Universitaires Saint Luc and the CEA, a research organization funded by the French government.
The partners are aiming to develop a functional prototype and conduct pre-clinical validation within 18 months.
