Abbott is partnering with WeightWatchers to integrate its FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitors with WeightWatchers’ mobile app.

The goal is to provide diabetic patients with information on the impact of their food choices, along with diabetes-tailored nutritional guidance.

The combined products will be especially useful for people with type 2 diabetes that are less intensively managed by doctors, the companies said.

The partners aim to launch a product in the U.S. market in 2023. Financial terms of the collaboration deal were not disclosed.
