BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB, VENTIV IN MARKETING PACT
Bristol-Myers Squibb has hired Somerset, N.J.-based Ventiv Health to help sell its antibiotics Cefzil and Tequin. The deal calls for Ventiv Pharma Services to provide Manhattan-based Bristol-Myers with a sales force of 375 representatives to market the drugs. Cefzil, which is used to treat upper respiratory tract infections, generated sales of $181 million for the first nine months of 2004. Sales for Tequin, which is used to treat lung, sinus, skin and urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases, totaled $119 million during the same time period.
