SIEMENS TO ACQUIRE SENSANT
Saying the purchase will help it commercialize next-generation transducers, Siemens Medical Solutions Ultrasound Division is buying Sensant for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition of the privately held San Leandro, Calif., company will allow Siemens to develop advanced "capacitive microfabricated ultrasound transducer (CMUT) technology," according to the Mountain View-based Siemens division.
