Schumer: Merck Paying Off Insurers to Undercut Generic Zocor

A prominent U.S. senator is accusing Merck of offering rebates to major health insurers that agree to adjust drug copays so it will be cheaper to buy Merck’s cholesterol drug Zocor than the generic equivalent, and has sought an FTC antitrust investigation into the practice.
