KING PHARMACEUTICALS LAYS OFF 56 AT BRISTOL PLANT
King Pharmaceuticals has laid off 56 employees at its factory in Bristol, Tennessee. The Bristol-based drug maker also cut an additional 23 employees at other King operations. The company employs about 28-hundred at eight facilities nationwide. A company news release issued Friday says the reduction in jobs is designed to "improve efficiencies" for long-term growth. Most of the job cuts were made in the manufacturing and logistics departments.
