ROCHE NET PROFIT DROPS, TAMIFLU SALES SOLID
Roche Holding AG's net profit fell 12 percent in 2005 compared to 2004, when
it posted a big gain from the sale of its over-the-counter drug unit, but the
company's pharmaceutical sales surged last year with the help of its anti-influenza
drug Tamiflu. Operating profit, excluding that gain and other exceptional items
from both years, rose 33 percent to 9 billion Swiss francs ($7 billion) in 2005.
