SUCAMPO DRUG ON PHARMACY SHELVES
The local biotech sector has a new drug to boast about. Bethesda-based Sucampo Pharmaceuticals and its marketing partner have begun selling their drug to treat constipation in adults. Experts say the drug, called Amitiza and available in soft-gel capsules, is an improvement over existing treatments for chronic idiopathic constipation in adults.
