Japan Approves Boston Scientific's Taxus Express2 Stent
Boston Scientific announced it received approval to market its Taxus Express2 drug-eluting stent system in Japan.
The company plans to launch the paclitaxel-eluting stent after reimbursement approval is granted.
Data presented last month at the American College of Cardiology's annual meeting showed the stent is superior to brachytherapy in treating in-stent restenosis.
At the meeting, the company also presented data from the SPIRIT III trial, reaffirming prior safety and efficacy data for the stent.
