Jim Polarine, an 18-year veteran of STERIS Corporation, is currently a senior technical service manager with the company. His current technical focus is microbial control in cleanrooms and other critical environments. Mr. Polarine, an active co-chair on PDA’s Microbial Investigations Task Force, is a recipient of PDA’s 2019 Michael S. Korczynski Award. He has lectured throughout the world on issues related to cleaning and disinfection in cleanrooms. In addition, Mr. Polarine has published several PDA book chapters and articles related to cleaning, disinfection and contamination control. He was a co-author of PDA’s Technical Report #70, “Fundamentals of Cleaning and Disinfection Programs for Aseptic Manufacturing Facilities.” Mr. Polarine teaches the cleaning and disinfection module of PDA’s Aseptic Processing training course and the University of Tennessee’s Parenteral Medications course. He is currently President-Elect of the PDA Missouri Valley chapter and Technical Coordinator for the IEST.
